Additionally, he practices criminal defense and handles matters involving asset forfeiture, probate, wills, trusts, and estate administration.

Mr. Johnson began his career as an Assistant Public Defender in Florida’s 9th Judicial Circuit in Orange County. There, he represented hundreds of clients from arrest through case resolution and conducted numerous trials and evidentiary hearings for his indigent clients. The early trial experience he gained—including jury and bench trials—is uncommon for young attorneys.

Following this, Mr. Johnson moved to one of the largest insurance defense firms in Florida. With over twenty locations across the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands, he was able to further expand his experience in civil and administrative litigation. During this time, he particularly deepened his understanding of medical matters and the legal issues typically associated with claims.

After a career primarily dedicated to defending claims, Mr. Johnson today brings that experience and an additional perspective to his work at UTF. He is a member of the Florida Bar.
